Exmoor Rotary: Club News 2003-4

Big Band Night

For the second year, the Rotary Club of Exmoor organised a 'Big Band Night' at Dulverton Middle & Community School. Tickets were a sell-out, and a considerable sum was raised for Children's Hospice South West.

More information

The theme of the evening was '20's and 30's Style' which was being well demonstrated here.

Presentation of Cheque to CHSW

January 2004:

Acting-President Dennis Aslin presents a cheque to Alison Berridge for Children's Hospice South West. Although Alison looks rather alarmed at the prospect, the cheque was for £350.

This money had been raised by two auctions on the internet EBay site, one for an autographed script from 'Coronation Street', the other for an autographed street sign of Albert Square from 'EastEnders'.

A New Member Inducted into the Club

Mike Davis was inducted as a member of the Rotary Club of Exmoor on Tuesday October 7th 2003.

President John Rudd welcomed Mike to the club, and presented him with his Rotary badge and an information pack. Mike had attended several lunchtime meetings before this event, and was warmly welcomed by members.

Club Barbeque

In August, the annual club BBQ took place on a glorious sunny day. Most members of the club and their partners were able to attend, along with a number of guests including the President's grandchildren. The setting - in a member's garden - was perfect, and the food spectacular.
